I'm working on a typeface, let's call it Arial.

I want to have proper names for "Arial Regular" and "Arial Bols" etc. but:

I can't edit the font name directly, it kind of takes it from the font ID. And since the font ID can't have spaces, the font name ends up being "Arial-Bold" or whatever character I put in between.

Any ForntForge users that could point me to the right option?

I'm able to edit the human-readable name after I've entered the Font ID, not sure why you can't, sorry.
