How does dafont test a submitted font for approval?

Feb 12, 2024 at 19:46

... And how can we users test our fonts before submitting them, thereby saving everyone a lot of time and effort.

On a related note; in another thread, you refer to a font failing a "license plate effect". What is that and how do we do it?

(couldn't find any of this in the FAQ — maybe I need more coffee)

Finally got it running on Windows (still new to Linux - couldn't make it compile there). The report has three different scores on each test; pass, warning, and error. I assume an "error" means the font is rejected (my font got three), but how about the warnings? It got four of those. Are they safe to ignore or will they also get the font rejected?

(dunno if it matters, but I'm using FontForge on Ubuntu)

Does this mean that if FontForge validates a font, it's good? Even if Font Validator gives errors?
